At just 29, John Reno Jackson is making waves far beyond the shores of the Cayman Islands. Born and raised in George Town, Jackson has built a reputation as an artist unafraid to explore difficult questions, about identity, isolation, and the stories that shape us.

His work spans painting, sculpture, photography, and performance, often blending traditional forms with digital collage and found materials. Jackson’s pieces move between abstract landscapes and human figures, inviting viewers to consider the intersections of social interaction, adolescence, race, and sexual identity. Each work feels deeply personal yet universally resonant.

Jackson’s dedication and talent earned him a spot at the prestigious Royal College of Art in London, making him the first Caymanian admitted to their Master of Arts in Painting program. His international exhibitions, including the 'Gestures of the Unseen' show in the Bahamas, showcase not only the beauty of the Cayman Islands’ natural environment but also Jackson’s thoughtful approach to narrative and form.

For Jackson, art isn’t just about aesthetics, it’s about dialogue. “I want people to feel something,” he says, “to see themselves in the work or to question the way they see the world.” With each piece, he is not just shaping the Cayman art scene, he’s contributing to a global conversation.
